Hi Microsoft fishes,
Can you please suggest the roles one can get in Microsoft if they are coming from a management consulting background?
My skills are mostly in market research and have very good proficiency in Excel/powerpoint while being a very beginner of python/R.

Yeah, I’d say consistently more like 50-60 at the lower levels (billable, not water cooler time). You may spike higher than that as you get up to speed, though
Pipeline and launch strategy (which does a fair amount of DD) can have hours in the 60-70 range. Ageeed that hours for other practice areas are in the 50-60 range.
Tried P&LS and other practice areas. Can confirm.
Pre-COVID I had 2 weeks out of the year that I went over 50 hours working. During Covid I’m consistently at 55 which is annoying, but manageable

What division are you in?
60-65 is definitely not normal, I spent 5 years there and my average was 50-55 working primarily on GtM projects that are infamous for their short timelines. There were a few 70+ hour weeks but I can count them on both hands across 5 years, so that's ok in my books...
45-50 billed during normal, 55-65 during intense. As C2 said, these are real hours not counting lunch, WFH breaks, etc.
Never less than 50. 55-60 is my average post COVID. Pre-COVID, it was around 50.
Really important to clarify by practice area. Seems like pharma sits at the 40-55/wk, but medtech swings a LOT more. Sometimes it’s 50, sometimes it’s 70, our projects are just more variable.
How is S&T and P&LS?
