Yes as long as you’re meeting deadlines, etc. Anyone who says otherwise or judges you, is part of the problem with big 4 culture. We had a SM that would make snarky comments any time someone left before 7pm.. keep in mind most of the team was there before 7:30am. If work is getting done, and the client is happy, it shouldn’t matter what time you leave the office.
A1 - those SMs are the freaking worst
You do you fam.
I personally dip out and come back. Don't miss much.
I am usually punching out at about 4:30PM start working again next day at 7 AM ish
Same here! But then everyone else leaves around 4-4:30 so when I leave at 5 I’m the last person
No guilt here
The client is leaving around 4:30, so I’d wait until 4:40 to avoid awkward elevator conversations about why were all leaving early.
Solid point
When you say early, what time are you talking about?
5-530
7-8 at the latest. If there is more work to be done, I’ll continue at the hotel or go into the office early next day. I need that mental break
Left at 6:45 once (literally just once as most days were 10pm with a 7am start on that project ) and a consultant yelled "what is today? A half day?!?"
Sigh. Consulting culture...
