I know 2 people who left in February (one for industry, one for B4) and they still keep in touch with some people. It'll be fine. The people who don't understand aren't people worth your time anyway.

Good question. Just got an interview for a job starting January 3rd and I don’t want to burn any bridges.. if i do get the job I will have to give a 2 week notice and it is cutting close to that time. I think it’s too late now. Wonder what others think

Anytime after October is usually frowned upon but you gotta do what’s best for you. They’ll move on. Just try not to burn bridges with anyone you may want a reference from

I worked as Comms Dir. for 6 years at a nonprofit that hosts conferences as its primary activity. 3 yrs back, financial problems gutted staff and my position was eliminated- due to my intervention, my direct report remained. This person I hired and trained has done well, organized and efficient. It is now time to staff up for another conference and I’m welcome to return, but my direct report is being promoted to Comms Dir. they’d like to split the role somehow, but I can’t figure out how.

My boyfriend and I have greatly been considering moving abroad. We have things we want that we simply aren’t able to get in the US?

We’ve been considering Germany as one of our top choices, but we’re at a bit of a loss for the best way to go about it. Do we try to secure jobs first, or do we just try to live there and find a job once we’re there. He works in a kitchen as a cook and I work in Graphic design. Any advise is appreciated

Personally, I like posts like this one a lot because:
- it forces companies to admit, you were never out to “hire the best”
- long-term loyalty to a company is completely overrated
- it’s finally “cool” to have hard skills and focus on being really good at them

Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?
