How likely are you to get a job you interview for? At B4 they basically gave us offers if we had a pulse, what are the odds for industry jobs?

FYI at B4 they don't give offers to everyone. Of everyone that gets an on campus interview, probably only 30% or so get an offer.

Depends on how good you are. Industry is focused much more on your specific traits and the value you'll bring to the team. There aren't a million homogenous positions available like B4 so the hiring process is definitely more tailored to the individual. Do you have the relevant experience? Can you perform the tasks at hand? Will you be a fit personality wise with the team? Depending on how you scale one these will have a large impact over your chances of being hired.

I recently interviewed with 4 companies. 2 of them didn't want to move forward after a phone interview. 1 did invite me to second round interviews, but I wasn't interested. I got an offer from the 4th and accepted - like the above poster said, I'm a good fit for the role, the work, and especially the team & company culture.

Its tough, more people for 1 role. If you are the best candidate you will get it.

Big 4 does a lot of filtering before you get to interviews but everyone def doesn't get an offer. Industry interviews are more about your ability to tailor your experience to what they're looking for. I was 4/4 when interviewing for jobs in industry though I didn't have experience in the industries. All goes back to your people skills.

This is an in-person interview. I personally wouldn't waste time meeting in person if I didn't at least give them a 50/50 shot to impress me.

EY2: no way that is correct, has to be like 90%? The superday is the final round.

Still even if it was 30%, that's insanely high. Think about an industry job hiring an accounting manager. They might interview 10-15 people for 1 position. That's 10% of interviewees getting offers.

Y'all must have been joining B4 in huge office locations or something. At my Uni we had ~150-200 applicants for a spot in any given B4 office, and that office would end up accepting 1-5 of those people, depending on the B4. EY had 5 openings, PwC only had one spot. (This is for tax, maybe it's different for audit). Every recruiting season was crazy competitive, and most ppl ended up at small firms or in industry.

Doesn't sound like your school was a target school tbh.

90% is extremely high. I'd put it around 10% of on campus applicants get big 4 offers.

AS1: I'm referring specifically to people who get the final in-office interview.

Big4 consultant. Most of my former colleagues have left for smaller consulting firms or exited to industry roles. Several have wound up referring each other and essentially re-clustered together in bunches of 3-4 at other firms. Not one of them has referred me or invited me to interview to work with them again. Cause for concern? I consider myself easy to get along with, have decent relationships with all of them, but can't help but feel demoralized that nobody wanted to work with me again
