I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.

Depends on a lot of things.
I don’t usually wait for a response if I’m actively searching for a position, I just keep looking and applying.
I’ve applied for a job on a Thursday, got a call Friday, and had an interview Monday.
And then there are times where I interviewed, didn’t hear anything back, and then a year later they reached back out.
Got the job both times, so it’s hard to say.

The job I’m waiting to hopefully get an offer on tomorrow took applying to twice and waiting 5 months for the first call. Once they did call me the process was 2 weeks and I’ll know tomorrow.
I’ve also had a job reach out to me the day after I applied, and from application to start date was 9 days.
It varies role to role and company to company.
Sometimes days, usually takes weeks, sometimes months
