How long after bonuses hit should I give my two weeks notice? I have a new job lined up and bonuses will be paid out on Dec. 20th.

Once the funds clear in your account and after moving it to a new account

Lol yes 30 seconds. And expect to be told not to do your two weeks (at least that’s what has happened at my firm) so clean up your emails etc now!!!

As soon as the bonus hits your bank account is typical.

Dying laughing at these comments. Fair enough though, the game is the game.

Above comments are correct - wait until you've received the money to prevent potential issues over payment. Good luck with the new job!

Hi all i have an offer from one of big4 but reading the comments all through fishbowl wlb bad and long streching hours i am afraid to join
However i have also not been able to grab any other offers yet my np will end next week.
My concern is i am giving interviews in few of startup organisations which are founded in 2015/17 & 1of them might release offer with a package of x+1which i already hold from big4
Is it sensible to join a startup in comparison to big4 or is it stupid of me nt join b4.

Manhattan Law Firms Eye Wall Street’s Lead on Office Returns

As Wall Street banks and the law firms that advise them push to get employees back to the office, lawyers at most large New York firms are expected to hit targets of three days per week.
Hybrid schedules, with office work taking place Tuesday through Thursday, is a popular format at many firms. For law firm leaders, a major factor in RTO decisionmaking has been the need to develop junior lawyers who’ve worked..

I'm a senior associate at an AmLaw 100 firm being considered for an non-equity partner position at another AmLaw 100 firm which is a bit further down the pole. There is a business development expection to eventually convert to equity; the expectation at the start is to assist with existing work. Jumping essentially let's me short track the road to partner. I'm unsure about the opportunity, which is essentially me starting over. Any wisdom on this situation? Thanks!

When do partners decide when an associate is good enough to make partner? I’m a senior and it is extremely clear to me when an associate has it or doesn’t, and moreover it doesn’t take eight years to figure it out; it takes just one or two matters for me to know if they’re adding value or are ultimately just a commodity. It’s hard for me to avoid the conclusion that associates are largely being strung along by partners who are going to can them at some point, long after that decision is made.

One of the most frustrating things is having the partner “de-prioritize” your deal. They stop responding to questions, take forever to review things you’ve sent them and act annoyed when you try to follow-up. Does anyone else experience this?
