Thanks for posting. Thiught it was just me having a tough time. So many posts on here about being slammed with work.
Honestly I don’t think anyone knows. We’re getting to end of year, and companies are trying to survive. I’m hoping for springtime ramp up.
Once we’re through the holidays, many companies will be in a new fiscal (or half way through, if theirs starts mid year), and client marketing budgets should be a bit clearer.
This is 100% me with my finger in the wind and not a formal forecast though, so grain of salt, and all that. It’s hard out there. Good luck.
I don't know the exact percentage of holding company representation in the industry, but I'm gonna say 90%. It's a lot. And seeing as their main function is to continually downsize and merge, and the pandemic gave them a free pass to cut jobs and freeze hires, I don't think there's going to be a big hiring ramp up any time ever. I think the industry just got permanently smaller.
Actually, I think it’s moving to small independent shops.
Everyone I talk to is at the breaking point in terms of workload. Surprisingly the economy is doing very well. So I feel like hiring has to pick up in the new year at least. Unless we fall off a cliff, which I don’t think will happen.
The Fed propping up the economy is not a new story. It’s just how things are now unfortunately. And it’s not going to stop for years. There’ll be another stimulus deal after the election. The country will not lock down in full again. Too many lessons learned back in March and April. But let’s revisit in the new year and we’ll see who’s right. I know I’m the busiest I’ve ever been in my career. And 2021 spending and budgets are high.
