If you only want the best experiences of chi, you should maybe only come may - oct. Beaches (and freshwater swimming), amazing patios and rooftops, a ton of events (lolla, riot fest), and so much more. In winter it's significantly more dead, but you should come back in the winter maybe for a week or two and see a frozen lake, it's a wild experience.

😂 pretty much posted the exact same things

IMO yes - Ive been here 20 years [when did that happen ?]. Are there things I have yet to do, see - yes ? Can you get most of the experience in 6-9 months, absolutely. While we joke about 9 months of winter and 100 days of summer, realistically Dec - Mar is the worst and there won’t be much to do then. May - October is the best here and make the most of every weekend.

I’d also add if you’re exploring Chicago, make sure to see Michigan and Wisconsin too - truly great places in summer and fall

Yup - Madison and SW Michigan are both 2 hours too!

A weekend is enough

Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.
