OP — you know you can just email gps security right?
Generally if you leave a cleared position or contract then within two years, your clearance can be reactivated as long as the investigation stays current.
Your clearance is active until it expires. Originally l, TS was 5 years but due to issues with OPM and the backlog...it was extended to 6 years. If you have an SCI...it’s inactive once you leave that project but you have a 2 year period where it’s a lot quicker to get your SCI access approved again.
Exactly. 6 years for the TS and 2 for the SCI

As long as the underlying investigation is in scope, the clearance will remain current for 2 years after it was last active, or the applicable prorated time if the investigation goes out of scope before the 2 years is up, then it expires.

For further clarification--as an example, if you leave your job now and your investigation was done 5 years ago, your clearance will only remain current for 1 year vs 2 due to the investigation being out of scope after 6 years.
Thanks all for your input!
