How long does it take on average to make partner at a V100 firm? How long should it take?

Does it get better (even slightly)? I am a first year M&A, and so far I don't necessarily mind the long hours but the unpredictableness just grates on me. I also don't feel like I'm learning anything: make this PowerPoint slide blue not red or make this chart in Word not have word wraps (all stuff I just immediately delegate to our document formatting team). I'm a little bit older as a first year (had a corporate job before LS), and these sort of tasks drive me nuts. Is 2/3 yr better?

The majority of my career has been in healthcare tech with some retail experience. Looking to break into event management/coordinating (I believe this is the correct job title) space in either the entertainment, fashion & retail or cosmetic industry. Any insights or advice is appreciated!

Confused as to when to jump from consulting. I joined a T2 consulting firm after MBA and working from 9 months but the job made me anxious and personal health took a hit. I had decided to complete a year before switching out but just got an opportunity in CEO's office of an energy company. Should I switch now or complete a year and find something else?
I'm also concerned about exits from CEO's office roles, what do they look like?

What’s your take on counteroffers? I recently was offered a role at a growing company (Recent IPO) with what looks like a bright future. The downside is it’s a lat move doing sim work with small increase to base but additional bonus and RSUs that won’t vest for 3 years. Main reason I was leaving current role was due to boredom and wanting a change. I am currently working as a Data Science Analyst in Amex and would like to make a switch to Fraud detection/Credit risk modelling in future.(not in a hurry but would like to start preparing for the same)
How should I go about preparing for it? Is MBA the only course?

I’m surprised by how difficult it’s been to try to jump from heavy senior to manager in industry (currently b4 audit). Looking for cycle accounting, regular back office stuff. Is this due to the pandemic? I’m curious about other’s experience before and now. I’m not discounting it could be my personal experience for whatever reason.

Partners, senior associates - why do you phrase things as “what about this? Why havent we done this?” Isnt it obviously bc nobody thought about it? Why not just direct and guide your team to do something as opposed to ask that awkward question and make the team scramble to pretend like it’s in process

There’s a corporate partner that was a big-time lateral hire. He is always out of the loop on the deals and hands off on everything BUT any time there is a client call, he tries to provide input that is very off base (i.e., stating incorrect facts, creating inapplicable hypotheticals, or being an alarmist on items were previous addressed). It makes me cringe every time because the partner from a different corporate group has to cover his gaffes on the call. Has anyone run into this situation?
