How long does it take to become a web developer?

Have any of you made the switch from a non-technical role to something more technical? I'd love to learn from your experience and hear how you went about it!


Context: 2020 grad in Bio w/2yrs work experience in BD/sales. I'm a top performer on my team, but dread the M-F grind. Feeling bored, stuck, and want to increase my earning potential. Looking into marketing ops/strategy or business analysis. Also interested in data science so I'm looking into certs/learning more about that.

Crowdsourcing exit ideas. I have 20yoe in a niche area of federal environmental work but I’m also a strong consultant w/experience in management/leadership, proposals, writing, recruiting, training, strategic planning…. I’m stagnant in my current role. I want more pay, but I want to keep a remote role. Everything I see sounds boring, too technical/software related, or like a director/exec role that will kill my WLB. I’m also over the billability targets.

I’m an SDR who has been at my company for 6 months. In those 6 months I’ve been the leading guy for 3 months. My goal is to be AE. Should I move on?

My SO told me he wanted to take a break and I told him that we should rather break up for good but never heard back from him. During the break, I met couple of guys and things happened. Now my SO wants to be back in my life and I told him what I have been up-to. I gave him the classic “But we were on a break” line and he got more upset.
