Mentor
I’m 3 months in and still lost
The person I’m shadowing said it took about 1 year to get really comfortable but they still need coaching every once in a while.
Based on my exp. - I would say takes a year before “it clicks” and you become more comfortable and no longer nervous when starting a new deal.
Clicks quicker, the more deals you are able to see through from start to finish
But the learning never really stops.
6 months to a year
Yep, this is about right. But every year you look back and realize how much you didn’t know. Don’t think the learning ever stops. Every deal is different so always something to learn. One of the reasons I like this job
Coach
A handful of deals from start to finish and a good teacher
I’d say 1 year. Look for someone who is willing to invest in your learning though. I know that’s especially hard when virtual and when everyone is busy. Don’t be afraid of asking questions, even if you think you should already know the answer.
At least 6 months - 1 year
I’m 6 months in and struggling lol
Anyone from KPMG an FDD manager and if so, what kind of salary did they offer? Please mention if you’re in a HCOL
Not at Kpmg but talked to KPMG recruiters in NYC. managers range from $130-160. This was a few months ago.
I’m 6 months in and still learning a lot. Struggling with more of the conceptual stuff and actually identifying valid adjustments
Did they take you as an audit manager? Did you switch firms? What did they give you on the base? What are your hours like now?
3 end to end deals
6 months is when I really hit my stride, though sort of knew the process after 2 or 3 deals 2 months in
A year. Hang in there. It’s a humbling experience.
Is this if you come in as a Senior 1? Coming in as a Senior 3+ this fall.
Shouldn’t matter what level you are. FDD is still a different experience.
