As a black person I'm well aware of the belief held that a lot of "us" dont actually belong in the firm..we are here through affirmative action/diversity push. How prevalent is that view do you think?
I have an inclusion teacher to help me with one SPEd student in class. He isn't supposed to work "directly" with the student as to not be consipicous, but I would like him to. I don't know what to do.

I’m a mid-level working in a niche area in NYC. I like the work I do, put in long hours, high quality work, take time to mentor juniors, etc. I see myself at a law firm long term but now wondering if this is the right firm to make partner. Among others, one big concern I have is the non-existent emphasis on diversity and inclusion initiatives (they aren’t even pretending to care...), no committees, no statements in support of POC, etc. How do I find firms really committed to these issues?

Should I try again a 3rd year or just leave now 🧐 Manager : “You fly far under the radar, hit billables, clients like you, coworkers have nothing but good things to say, do good work consistently, but missing the “shine/pluses needed for me to make the business case for promotion”. Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?

I have an EB-3 petition in progress. Waiting for my EAD/AP card, courtesy of being current for 2 glorious months. But the dates have now regressed, and EB-2 is moving forward faster. So trying to get an EB-2 application going. But Deloitte is refusing to do that unless I get promoted to SM. Currently an M. Any advice? Just stick with my EB-3 and wait for my SM promotion? Get a different job? Anything else I could consider?

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
This will mean massive layoffs right?
Is it alright if my utilization drops below what it is supposed to be by a little bit (5% or less drop from standard amount) while I don’t have a lot of work to do?
