If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

You’ll get the “it depends” a lot, some people take to it like a fish into water some people take some time finding your ground. Either way, the first 3-6 months you are coached and hand held a lot to make it work, so it’s not something I would say is set up for failure, more towards success.
Responsibility, again it depends, but frankly, as much as you can handle. If you are God’s gift to mankind I’m gonna give you my job to do. Again, the intent isn’t too overwhelm but to give you what you’ll be good at.
Please note, the avg undergrad comes into these jobs thinking they’re hot shit and will continue to be hot shit, false, it’s a normal distribution like everything else, and that often is the bitterest pill to swallow.
Once you’ve got the trust of your leadership team you get a ton of responsibility early. I presented to senior execs as a first project associate, got given newer folks to manage when we oversold a project and couldn’t staff enough managers, and so on as an associate. You’ll get as much responsibility as you can handle and often more; I wasn’t a good manager as an associate.
Get enough sleep the night before and be calm and confident. Good luck.
