How long does it typically take to get staffed on your first project? Feel like I'm going crazy and its only been a week. I finished all my compliance and updated my profiles and everything, just waiting for my RM.

Very difficult as we normally won’t have a network unless you’ve worked with a few people previously. I recall it was about 3 weeks for me. Enjoy this time is my opinion.

I feel like one month is average

Don’t just wait for your RM though go talk to people and find something your interested in

Sorry wrong terminology, I was referring to billable projects in general.

Took almost 2 months for me, had a good time. Enjoy it, be proactive and take some training, get a cert

Depends on your skillset. I got assigned to a project before I even onboarded. If you know the type of work you want to get into you can start networking. Dpn is a powerful tool

It took me a month. And RM was usueless

Many are, but there are a few good ones. Its definitely your network though. I've only used my RM once...all my projects have been through plugs

Finally got staffed, thanks for all the advice guys!

What area of cyber are you in? Which office are you assigned to?

You should get picked up pretty quickly. The lucky few are hired directly for a project and start right away....others start within 2 weeks to a month. The unfortunate ones can go up to 3 months sadly. But identity is a big deal and so you should be fine. Especially true if you're certified in like okta, sailpoint, cyberark etc.

Took me 2 months. It takes time here….

It really varies from what I have heard but I was staffed after day 3 to begin that following week.

Met my coach today and told me I needed to get staffed ASAP so I’m not a money-suck. Already feeling the love.

I come from consulting, but the layout is a lot different than what I’m used to. At previous employers, I would jump on a proposal or project immediately. This is my first experience with a coach or internal onboarding for that matter.

Talk to your coach, talk to your onboarding advisor and reach out to your portfolio leadership. Start build a network. But in the end don't worry too much, when I joined I spent almost 3 months on the bench ended the year with a 68% utilization and still got promoted. It matters what you do when you're on the bench and what you can deliver once staffed.
