This is personal. My ex is a med student and she is compulsively on this bowl. It started 3 months ago when I was invited for interviews with a top boutique and then with M and B. Night after night we butt heads and went through case prep, pei prep in constant stress and struggle. I couldn’t have asked for better coaching and support. It paid off. This week I got an offer from M but I also lost my gf. She’s been in pain resisting her parents - her mom can’t accept someone who is not in medicine.

Looking for some advice. Initial interview with a google recruiter later this week. Any tips or anything that would be “different” in the process from a job in a regular industry role? Thank you

Had a second interview with AmLaw200 firm Monday, which I originally got from a referral from an influential partner. All seemed to go fantastic and heard back from two of the most relevant partners replying to my thank you email saying they’d definitely be in touch soon. Now I’m getting nervous although I’ve got other interviews and don’t really want them to get back yet. I also know it can take a bit to get an offer together but the anticipation is increasing. Should be a great weekend!

Professional opinion on piercings? I know of a few women around my age (22-27) that have piercings and are still treated professionally in their workplace. PSA FYI 60 hour weeks leading up to busy season (May) and 70 hour weeks during busy season (June-September) are an expectation, aka the norm.

Currently making above market at an ID firm with a comfortable situation going where I also get great depo and case handling experience. However, got offer from am 100 firm that pays slightly below market. Definite pay increase but also in proportionately higher cost of living city. Big kicker is getting to do commercial lit work and getting billed out at much much higher rates. An associate at new firm says she bills an amount that’s over 2x my partner on ID cases… should I take it?
