How long is the minimum you should work at a company before leaving? I went in-house about a year and a half ago and really don’t like the company, my group, or the work. That said, the experience is great (Fortune 50 company) and I still want to leverage my time here as much as possible.

Is there anyway to pass off 2 years of p&c underwriting and 1.5 of management liability underwriting as 3.5 years experience? All at the same company. I want to apply for roles as a senior underwriter.

How likely or possible is it to be promoted in a year from Senior Analyst to Manager? Or am I better off asking for a raise (without the promotion)?

I’d like to better understand if it’s better to stay in consulting with a well-defined career path or to move to Google/Facebook/Amazon with a good level and having the consciousness of being promoted is really hard.

Need some advice on my next career move. I'm 31, have an MBA and am currently a SC in Risk Advisory with no M&A experience. I am good at risk consulting work but don't find it very challenging or interesting. That said, I expect to get promoted to M next year.

Recently, I interviewed with another Big 4 firm for SC in CDD M&A team and have got an offer. I enjoyed doing the CDD case study, and I believe I'd do well in the role.

Does it make sense to start afresh in M&A at this stage?

The thing is that I don't really enjoy working in SAP. It was handed over to me when I joined my current WITCH company. Now I have decided to switch to Salesforce tech. For which I have already finished the Admin beginner part.(while staying in NP)

I’m seeking advise from fishers. My brother in law is going to university next year. He was engineering (which is one of the worse decisions someone can do from my experience LOOL). I told him if anything he should do managment engineering which he got accepted to. He also got accepted to Mcmaster- information management systems. Which in my opinion you get a bit of everything! I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

What sort of roles can one expect in India (prefer corporate) after 14+ years at a Big 4 in USA?

Anybody out here know of any “development programs” for mid career professionals looking to transition to sales? Have a data/analytics b/g., but I’m much more social than a “typical” data/analytics person. Hi! I need some help negotiating a raise. I have been working for this company for exactly 3 months now, but I was hired as an AGM. I'm not specific on what my responsibilities are as AGM.
However the GM at the time, quit 1 and a half months in. I was thrown into the role and have been handling it since.
My regional calls himself our GM but is never on site.

At a biglaw firm now, in the final round for a FAANG product counsel role. I just learned that one of the partners at the firm is involved in a big case adverse to the company I’m interviewing at. I have not worked on the case. Do companies run conflicts checks, do ethical walls, etc.? Could this be a problem if I get an offer?

How likely is one to succeed at using a competing job offer to negotiate a raise at your own company? I’m happy at my current company aside from compensation, and don’t want to leave. How do stock grants and refreshers work at FAANG and other big companies?

If an offer includes $160k in equity over 4 years, you would get $40k per year, right? Do companies give a refresher each year, so that the second year, you might get $40k from your first grant and another $40k from your second grant? Are people making 4x the equity their 4th year in house if they get a refresher every year?

Anyone have any professional development/leadership books they’d recommend? Doesn’t have to be lawyer or in-house related specifically, just something you found helpful. I just finished Deep Work and found some aspects helpful, but others not applicable to in-house counsel life.
