I just gave myself 5 days, a long weekend. But I also need a paycheck so 😅
Quit my job last week, planning on 6-8weeks but seriously considering bumping up to 4 months
yeah, that would make things more complicated! Single pringle and lots of side projects I want to start :)
As much time as possible. It will be the best time off you will ever have. You have your whole lifetime to work.
I did 3.5 weeks, had health insurance through EOM. I used the $ I got from my vacation payout (5K) to treat myself to a trip for about 5 days, and then the rest of the time I just kinda chilled with literally 0 worries.
So all the folks out here planning to give themselves a few months - firstly, kudos! - my question though is, do you have an offer which you would push for say upto 4 months? Of would you be looking now?
I never have and regret it. Probably a couple weeks unless I had the ability to take some trips. Would go stir crazy
As much as you can without it stinging financially. I only 2 weeks last time and wish I did more.
Also - make sure you do something productive with the time off! Sleeping in and watching Netflix all day gets old after day 7 (at least for me)!
I only took 3 weeks and a week was spent moving... would highly recommend at least 1.5 months if you’re moving since I still didn’t fee as refreshed
1-2 months
3-4months....so many things on my to do list and the years keep slipping by...
My wife has a pretty solid job so we talked about me taking 4 months off and doing some volunteer work.
4 weeks
