Our rule for family members has been 10 days since start of symptoms, symptoms are improving, and negative rapid test. The rapid test is a better indicator of the end of the contagious period than a PCR (you can test positive on PCR for months without having the viral load to be contagious)
I’m leaning this way. Will wait for tomorrow morning’s test tho. Ugh.
She will test positive for about 90 days. She should isolate for 10 days from the day her symptoms started.
I think it’s that you *can* continue to test positive. Not that you will. I think 10 days, esp if symptom free is okay. That’s how they did it in NYC when restrictions were tight. They actually advised NOT to retest and to start isolation 10 days from positive test
Ten days from the onset of symptoms. She will continue to test positive on a rapid test. The board of health told me not to bother testing my kids again after they tested positive because they would still test positive but no longer be contagious.

Rapid test again in the morning. I tested positive until day 8 so she should be close!
Thanks, all! I’m still conflicted, but I’ll wait for her to test in the morning to make a decision. Waiting one more day even if she tests negative seems to be the safest way to go, but looking at my work schedule tomorrow definitely makes me want to tell her to come. But it’s an easy, albeit frustrating, decision if she still tests positive.
