How long until you hear back from your recruiter regarding how the interviews went ? My recruiter told me that I should hear back in a week but based on what I read here that seems unlikely. I would like to know your experiences after the interview process. Thank you!

I got hit with a Covid layoff. How discriminating should I be about my next step? I've got about a decade of experience in big law, general commercial lit. I've wanted to go in house for a few years, but positions for pure litigators are few and far between. I'm applying for in-house and firm positions, and also a few firm administrative roles that I don't want to do. Should I just take anything I can get? I'm ok on savings, just worried about long term career impact.

Hello everyone. I am working with Microsoft project in EY. I know a lot about their control and compliance rhythm but as somehow when i apply to the action center, my CV never gets considered post pre screening.
I am a Chartered Accountant and there are lots of risk manager and audit openings time and now. Anything specific I need to do to land an interview with Microsoft because I am sure there is some gap in my profile.

Had my performance review August 3rd. My boss could tell I was upset about a messily 5% raise after getting my degree etc. (recent post). He asked what range I’d like to be in, and I responded in a fashionable matter by comparing median salaries in the area. He said he would try and get me in that range. But has taken over a month to “think” about it. There shouldn’t really be much to think about? Either he wants me or he doesn’t, right? At this point I’m losing money and and motivation.

Applying for some in-house M&A jobs, and a big focus is being able to run deals. I of course feel very comfortable running deals from the corporate side and managing multiple teams, but have obviously always had an army of specialists in biglaw. How does this work in house? I’m primarily thinking from a tax perspective — I likely wouldn’t be able to structure a deal (and don’t think many of my peers could either) since we always rely on a tax team, but not sure if that is an expectation.

My firm has a 9-year partnership track as of a year or two ago. It has grown quickly from 5 to 7 to 9 in the past 10 or so years. In the written document that sets out the criteria for partnership, it basically says that your billable hours need to go up every year. Our minimum is 1900. I've been applying to Google and a few other FAANG companies for PM roles but without any luck so far. I'm prepared to got to BSchool (already have my GMAT done) to make it happen but want to know if there may be a more expedient way.

Are there any large differences between a Strategy lead and Program manager positions? Looking to transition and in the process for a couple of roles. Mainly concerned about job role, longer term progression and internal mobility (will be moving countries in a few years). Speaking to the HMs and reading the job descriptions show very similar job responsibilities for the two roles. Coming in most likely as an L5 in the US

PSA: when asking questions, mentioning role, geo and level helps others give a more informed answer. The process for SWE differs vastly from CE or PgM or finance roles. Levels play a role but are generally optional (unless it’s regarding comp). Geo can help esp for non-US stuff, and on team match difficulties.

Google recruiter said that an L6 people manager role in gTech/gCare pays $200k base, $60k/yr equity, $40k/yr (20%) bonus in San Francisco / Mountain View. Does this seem low?
