How are your “support functions” (HR, marketing, finance, etc) treated? We are second class citizens, with less: training, growth opportunities, inclusion in firm leadership calls/gatherings, etc.

On a call with the CEO talking about diversity and they compare a person with tattoos experiencing prejudice in the office to Black people colleague experiences... Meanwhile last I checked, a tattoo was a choice and removable. Also depending on placement, you can’t see it.
On salary bowl. Ask for level, gender, $$$, exp for various social peeps. Associate says this 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

Is having an all-female event in a company setting inherently sexist? Isn’t defining who is allowed to attend an event based on gender the definition of sexism and should not be allowed?
Once, a M friend said "men are stronger than women, I could dominate you right now" and at the moment I didn't know what to say cause he was in fact bigger and stronger than me. But this is something that bothers me still... I think people in general, regardless of gender, have different abilities and it is not a matter of comparing but rather understanding how best to use them, for yourself and for the society. It pisses me off to know ppl can think like this, and he is actually a good friend
Thought: When you see diversity of skin color as the most critical factor you miss out of diversity of experience and ideas. Quite often these overlap, but there are a lot of people out there like JD Vance who come from poor white roots, but because of their skin color they’re assumed to have some magical privilege bestowed upon them by society. Likewise, wealthy people of color are lumped in with their less affluent counterparts. We’re so quick to look at skin color and see the sum (cont’d)

Got a McK interview, practiced like never before, failed the final round due to anxity/casing eff ups. I was on opt from July 2020 to July 2021. I got my h1b approved in 2020 and chose to activate it via the consular processing method. I left the US in Jul 2021 and will finally visit the embassy for stamping tomorrow. If successful, does it mean that I could get another company to apply for a h1b transfer right away? Or do I have to enter the US before the h1b transfer process can start? Thanks!
Anyone ever had trouble with a doctor not wanting to certify a family member’s condition, in order to take a leave of absence? My brother attempted suicide via drug OD (he was addicted) and he’s been hospitalized for over a week with seizures, psychosis, peeing blood, etc. We have visited him every day, driving 100+ miles round trip. The doctor is giving my father and me grief, saying (quote) “you aren’t providing care, the hospital is” and “there’s no reason you can’t go back to work.”
Tata consulting and infosys are excluded from this app? Those outsourcing firms take away most of H1B working visas from US educated talents.
