Less than 5%. Everyone talks a big game in this app.

We're at $330k in Houston. More money than we could possibly spend. Couldn't imagine making 170k more
I don’t even make that much but I’ve made some solid moves in real estate and in the market. I’m probably at a combined income of 270k in DFW. 3200 sq ft home, 3 car garage. Own 2 expensive sports cars (1 exotic) and a SUV. Saving close to 80k into index funds a year. Very blessed. If I had 330k yet alone 500k lawd have mercy!!

Given the ages of most folks who seem to post on this app, I'd imagine those of us with families make up less than 25-40% of the userbase.
From that 40% figure, going totally anecdotal, I've seen way more people comment about SOs being in non-high paying occupations (teaching, etc) than high paying occupations, so I'd be generous and say no more than half of the 40% have dual high incomes families.
Breaking that down further, $250k per person is a sizable amount, even for high income occupations--anecdotally plenty of doctors outside of specialties stay in the $200s, for example, so I'd say of the max 20% on here who are DHI families, probably half of them are under that $500k threshold.
All of that is to illustrate that I'm guessing no more than 10% of FB users on the high end, down to no more than ~6% on the low end.
MD 1 turned this into a case interview - well played. I will be using it in the fall....
$500k is still proletariat rabble
;)
For a Partner, yes I agree. You are probably well into the 7 figures. I was asking more generally.
My partner and I make that in NYC. Feel very middle class lol
Im guessing 5%. I do think the majority on here are younger people or single people. So there are prob a lot of individuals making $250k+ but not couples both making that.
I’d imagine it’s few and far between. My wife’s a dermatologist making roughly $500-550K annually.
While I agree the answer is likely <5%, it seems a bit surprising to me.
It shouldn't be too hard for most mid career folks with consulting backgrounds to hit $250k unless you live in a LCOL area. If your spouse is similar to you, that could be 250 x2 right there.
Esp if you live on the coasts, it seems everyone in the professional class outside entry level is making at least 200k.
I guess another interpretation is that the vast majority of this app doesn't live in the markets where compensation is stupidly (and unjustifiably) high.
Google1 fair points. But management consulting in general doesnt adjust pay for COL. Same package in California as it is in Alabama.
3/4???!! 😂😂😂
