Are any agencies actually organized? In a new role and struggling to understand how these companies continue to operate with so much chaos.

Got an offer two days ago to work at a hedge fund. I told the recruiter numerous times that I was looking for a 115-125 base and they gave me a TC of 115 and said they hit the top of the budget range for this role. I feel like it’s a slap in the face that they couldn’t communicate that I was out of their budget by 10+ grand from the start.

I just changed my role to project management...I start to hate this when I'm doing the detailed plans. I have never been a detailed oriented person and it takes too much of my mental energy when working on very details. I guess I'm happy about the change I made but still need to find something I want to do in long run.

What advice would you give to a mid-30’s person who is wanting to shift careers toward consulting. I’ve already advised on transferable skills. I’ve been in my position a little over 1 year, received top scores in my annual review, kept my team intact, yet I’m paid at the lowest salary band for my level. Manager has said multiple times she would look into a raise for me but nothing has happened. Person before me in this role was earning +$17K than me. How many times do I have to ask?

Hi 🐟, I will be going on Mat Leave soon (company gives me 16 weeks). I was informed by HR that as a NY employee, I am eligible to 2 additional weeks of leave at a prorated salary. HR wasn't sure if being on H1B visa and taking the 2 additional weeks is okay.
I wanted to check if anyone has done this and if it will cause any issue on visa or GC front given that visa is tied to the salary and I wouldn't get paid my full salary for the 2 weeks. TIA!
