How many folks pack their breakfast/lunch for when they go into the office? It seems like I'm in the minority for my practice area as I go in office 2/3 days a week and might go out to grab lunch once every couple of months. I don't think I've seen any of the partners ever pack their lunch in, just the associates/paralegals.

Never. Leaving the office for lunch is my guilty pleasure

My wife is an incredible cook so I always take her leftovers for lunch.

My firm has a cafeteria with free food, so no one packs their lunch.

like

I want to go to there.

I always buy breakfast. Lunch is a toss up. But honestly, eating out all the time makes me lose my appetite so I try to bring a lunch at least 2x a week when I have time to pack it.

like

I drink a protein shake for breakfast at home each morning, then pack a lunch for the office. Hoping to retire early, so I don’t like to spend a bunch of money on food.

like

It’s also much faster for me to walk a minute to the microwave/kitchen than to go grab food outside the office.

I’m always packing

like

Are you sure theyre even eating?! I pack my lunch to keep my gainz.

I can’t say for sure. They do tend to congregate around the vending machine to eat snacks Vs actual food.

I knew plenty of partners at my old firm that packed lunch. Generally they just ate it in front of whoever was meeting with them. I was offered baby carrots once during a meeting with a partner.

It definitely adds up for sure.

I bring lunch and dinner on my days in the office. And a breakfast smoothie.

I usually bring lunch 2x a week and then we have a practice group lunch the other day I go in. Buying lunch doesn’t bring me enough joy to justify spending 50+ a week on it. But I agree it feels like basically everyone buys

I also pack lunch most days I’m in the office

Let me ask, at what point, when communication isn’t being returned, do you just go ahead and do the thing you’re inquiring/asking?

I’m fed up with communicating like a mad man to have nothing returned and then painted like a bad person/employee for not having work done.

If she were to leave and accept a job at my client in an internal controls position, would I need to disclose this to my team? It sounds like ethically yes but on paper in the guidelines, it says as long as we’re not married we aren’t obligated to. Don’t live with her or have kids or anything. Just a long time girlfriend, and we’re both at the staff level

I had a divorce mediation last week. The client wasn’t thrilled with the results (is anyone after mediation?) but we left with the two things she wanted: the house and her pension. She thanked me. My office sent the bill a few days later, and client wrote my boss a very long, angry email claiming I gave her incompetent representation. My boss backed me 100%, but I haven’t been practicing very long, so it really stung. Anyone have advice on dealing with self doubt in these situations?

I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?

I’m easygoing enough, but I’m also struggling to find someone who consistently turns in what I’m looking for.

I joined a corporate firm as a multi year experienced paralegal. It seems however that I am not necessarily welcome by other paralegals in the Dept., a few negative comments to partners about me. Obtaining assignments feels much like a popularity contest. Any advice on overcoming the negative vibes? My fear is that there is a negative reflection about me and the managing partner doesn't seem open to me, even though I haven't had the opportunity to work for him or the others yet.

Just a question for those here. What does anyone see as a job outlook for a pharmacy technician that has 15 years of experience and is studying for the CPhT? I would like to return to 100% remote work and, understandably, most job postings that are about my caliber are requiring the cert. I am thinking of possibly pivoting into an IT job that would be fully remote later on down the road, but I’m interested in seeing what is possible now (and an average pay) for someone with my experience.
