Whether OP was or was not fishing for likes, I find the stark contrast between so many people who have never had a gap in work history to all others, rather remarkable.

What is considered a gap? When I switch jobs I usually try to take 2 weeks to a month off. Is that what you mean? Or do you mean taking a considerable amount of time off?
