I was going to say… you’re a machine if you can go for 30 minutes
This sucks. I wake up at 9:30 work until about 4:30. Take a full hour for lunch where I sign off. Multiple walks with my dog throughout the day. Corporate strategy FTW :)
I have 7 yoe and make 170k base so it's probably about the same. Haha but I'm in Georgia. Assuming you're in NYC
2 hours a day of commuting is a drag. What are you doing during the commute (driving, train, etc)? If not driving that can be valuable time for sleep, podcasts, eat breakfast / dinner, etc.
Taking the MTA, I listen to podcast sometimes but usually just music bc I’m so burnt out from learning everyday and doing work

Work is typically 8:30 to 5:30 and then maybe an hour after kids go to bed.
Kids are 6 to 8:30a and 5 to 8:30p with one or two wake ups in the middle of the night so that’s another part time job

🤷🏼♀️ - I have no expectations for my staff to work insane hours either. My partner declined a 5p call because he had his kids soccer game, my staff took a half day this week because of parent/teacher conferences at school. Realistically 80/20 rule - the most important priorities can get done in the work week, it’s the fluff and tail chasing that wasted the most time.
But I’m sure it depends on your team and leadership. But yeah, a decade of reputation building and networking helps.
You work 12.5h a day and assuming thats not what you do on Fridays… 70h feels a lot different ;-)
Oops added my commute as work. Do you think I’m complaining? Or is there better ways to live?
