Steadily around 130 yikes

April = 130, May = 100, and I expect June to be closer to 130

Between 140-150. I do have weeks that get slow, but then something hits my desk and I spend half a weekend buried in work.

Thanks for the replies! Guess I should have asked everyone to include your hours requirement, but it sounds like you all aren’t slowing down. I figured most people would have seen a significant reduction...

like

I think it depends on your firm and seniority OP. I’ve noticed junior associates at midsize or smaller firms are having a hard time accumulating hours through no faults of their own. Likewise, large firms have stubborn (or culpable) clients who continue to feed partners and senior associates, and those will feed their midlevels and juniors. Just remember that if you are junior, low hours are not your fault.

like

March 177, April 181, May 192.

March: 180
April: 163
May: 151 😅

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

Now 8/10 teammates have switched within < 1 year of project start (6-7 months with him) which tbh had good work in our opinion and even team was fun to work with even though none of us ever met in person.

Can someone explain how it possibly makes sense to buy, purely from a financial perspective, in sf right now? I want to, but a 2b mortgage seems like it’s ~$5k in the areas I’m interested in whereas rent for a comparable unit is $2.9-3.5k/month. Have never lived here before so not sure if this is normal or not? Is the covid rental discount that extreme and prices are usually closer to the monthly mortgage amount?

If you work at a small agency in NYC, could you tell me what your monthly health insurance premiums are for families? I'm at a small agency in NYC and the health benefits for a family are almost prohibitively expensive, ~1,500/mo with a high deductible. Would love to know if we're competitive or not and if not, share that info with our HR and bosses.

Capgemini I joined sometime back at D1 level , I do technical work most of time like coding, dev, testing etc.
I have worked a lot in my 14 years and still have required skills needed for the work. I don't have energy to slog any further. Moreover I get anxiety when I see junior level people doing same work as me and earning more or same.
I feel cannot sit longer hrs due to back issues and other health issues and family commitments.

Can I change to management side without risking my job .

Having my weekly crisis here. I feel like I’ve ruined my career by doing insurance defense at the same firm for 8 years. I’ve been aggressively job hunting for six months in this state, I previously took the bar in another state and was job hunting there for over a year. I haven’t had anything come up. The only options seem to be the miserable sweatshop ID shops everyone says to steer clear from. Thinking about a career change to selling cars so I can make more money. Really having a meltdown

Plaintiffs counsel took my clients deposition today. He mentioned that he would likely be ordering the transcripts and I suggested we split the cost of them (in front of court reporter). He got pretty defensive and said absolutely not, it’s unfair to the court reporter, and that it is frowned upon in the industry to do that. Each party orders (and pays for) their own copy. I’m in my 2nd year of practice, never heard such a thing. I’ve actually split the cost before! Curious for insight on this…
