Literally been tracking my actual hours there last 2 weeks (butt in seat) and realized I’m only working 39-40. I’m very productive and efficient in this time… no chatting, only eating at my desk, etc. I feel like I get a LOT done.

like

8 per day/40 per week on average, and most weeks are about that, but range probably 25-50 per week. I’ve been with my company long enough and have a strong reputation, so can get away with setting and keeping firm boundaries.

Like 3 hrs/day productively but bill 40 hours

K2, have done the heads down for 60 to 80 hours per week. Usually involved back to back call for about 8 to 10 hours and then I would take a break and then work 3 to 4 hours of actuals things I needed to get done. Plus weekend work. Billed only 40. Was working for large tech consulting company at the time.

like

Actual- about 35-40 max. Efficiency and delegating are key.

Sounds like it may be time to switch companies. We’re hiring! Message me if interested

10-15 hours of work, computer shows active 35-40

D21 I do something similar but less extreme. I am a SME on two or three other projects in addition to my main one, so I triangulate/quadrilateralate about how busy things are with the other stuff. GPS

About 15 hours of actual heads down work a week. Don’t tell anyone.

For those that actually hit < 40, how tf do you do it? What kind of consulting do you do?

Per day?!?!?

like

Usually 12-16 hours/day. Sometimes all nighters. Sometimes multiple all nighters in a row. Working hard on boundaries. Have seen some baby steps progress so far thankfully

It is upsetting that it’s easier to leave the company than just officially transferring to a project I’m already on

like

50-60

It's also worth noting that there's a huge difference between a 50 and a 60 hour work week. I'd argue 50 is pretty good and 60 is not sustainable if you want to do anything other than work between Monday and Friday

According to the new age movement, rest and leisure are working. So 24 and 168.

depends on the week , but isn’t that consulting?

Most of the time, 40. Other times, ~50

60ish. I have a very technical skill set that is rare at my firm and I’m way oversold. Actively interviewing.

I’m online 45-50 hours a week most weeks. And then 60-65 for deadlines but active work is usually 20 hours a week and 30 when busy

I was let go from a company b/c of a situation with a client. I confronted said client about her unconscious bias towards me after I had enough. She wanted to micromanage details of my work (i.e watch how I typed a date, or if I bold it or italic a word in a letter; and sit next to me watching as I typed). She said it was “training”. She also made underhanded (aka racist comments about my accent or where I was from). My company said I should’ve come to them faster than I did. Was I in the wrong?

Hello Folks.

WHAT TO DO!!!!!

Amazon came back with an offer (Non tech L5)
I didn't like it to be honest even though i wanted to be part of amazon for a really long time.

My Current CTC- 30(27.3+2.7)
Amazon - 30 fixed
+ 5 JB(For 2 years) and +11 RSU.
Technically 0% hike.

HR told me numbers on call but never sent estiamtes (been 1 week)
When I followed up she said she is taking approvals.

She is taking approvals on the salary I didn't agree to.
I messaged her to know structure but no revert.
