Received an offer for higher comp in industry. I am expecting that it’s going to be a 20-30% increase from where I am at. I really like my boss and am considering staying. Should I tell my boss about this offer?

I was having a really bad day (just found out a relative had passed, more than normal work stress, ect) and just really had a tough time gathering my thoughts. New Senior 3 here, I am unsure what I should try to specialize in out of the FAAS offerings. They all sound pretty interesting, and it seems like most manager+ level are aligned with a service pillar. Which of the below would provide best exit opp / pay?

1. TAAG: Technical accounting
2. Transactions: Assume this is deals support like CMAAS?
3. ESG and Sustainability
4. Finance Optimization (ERP Implementation)

In my third year at PwC in the core audit practice and am interested in switching career paths into (management) consulting. Have my CPA but not MBA. Any advice for how to transition? Switch firms?

I’m considering the Life sciences and Healthcare group but I hearing a lot about how bad/mixed reviews about the lifestyle for FDD. Can someone give a description of what it’s like? Is it really that unpredictable? Or is it generally manageable?

Is it possible for me to switch from audit to consulting or advisory with only 1 YOE? I just don’t find what I am doing to be enjoyable and would rather be in a different position. If you think it’s possible, can you please tell me how/what I need to do?

Should I get a CPA for Transaction Due Diligence?
I’m a new grad working in FDD and I’m trying to decide if becoming a CPA is worth it. I do not plan on staying in accounting in the future. I’m more interested in strategy work. I certainly do not want to do Audit. Would you recommend getting the CPA considering my career aspirations? Do you think it’s worth it? If not, what is the best way to use my time efficiently?

What careers are there after IT Audit. Would you recommend staying until you are a manager or just a senior? Would you recommend getting your MBA?

Does anyone have first hand experience with this?
