Being a good Creative is not about awards. It’s about solving problems in unique and impactful ways that help sell a product, idea, action, etc. if you succeed in that, you’re a good creative
Time and time again, nearly every creative with a career that I envy has told me that awards are a cancerous circle jerk.
I have two and I still think I’m a shit creative.
My partner has a few. I plan to ride his coattails.
I have 2 and I also still feel like a shit creative. But they did open doors for me to move to the states, which is good. But now I'm feeling the pressure to back it up. And the longer it goes on with no metal, the shitter I feel about myself. What sucks is I always told myself once I win a lion I'll believe in myself. Now I'm thinking once I win a gold I'll believe in myself. And if I ever get the gold I'm sure I'll want the grand prix. Point is, no matter how many you get it's never going to be enough to stop feeling like a fraud.

Seriously.
At the end it's not about the amount but about how long ago you got it, I think a shortlist this year is more valuable than a bronze from 10 years ago. You don't want to be that creative who only brags about old awards.

AC2: You know the deal. ABC -- Always Be Claiming-Awards. In a way we are no different that finance people who never think they have enough money. Creatively by itself means nothing in this business without some holding company being able capitalize off of it
You don't need awards to be a "good" creative. Awards only get you promotions, job offers and more money. Who would want that!
I have two zebras
You should be winning oscars, emmys and Pulitzer’s with your work or it really ain’t shit.
