How many meals per week do you make at home? (Microwave meals don't count, I mean things that actually require preparing ingredients)

Does opening a bottle of wine count as "making dinner"? If so, then almost every day.

In a week? Counting weekends and holidays? None.

@Havas, more power to you. I mean not all of us can afford nearly $25 a meal... I mean... $70 a day!? Seriously? Doing the math, if you do that for the full year, you're paying Sakara nearly $18,000 a year. I can't wait to make "fuck-you money" like that.

6 dinners, 6 breakfasts, and manage to bring lunch 2-3x a week. For us the crockpot, instant rice, and rotisserie chickens are a godsend.

@publicis your day will come. It will come.

Breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, every day of the week apart from Saturday brunch and dinner. Takes a lot of effort but it's worth it financially and health wise.

Also wondering the same! Should I be brown bagging it to save?

4ish. That seems average.

Arrow Icon

None, that is what Sakara is for

1?

1-2, but since I'm only cooking for myself and bf, the leftover game is strong

What Leo Burnett 1 said. But lately over the winter i've been resorting to having at least one restaurant based meal a day because I haven't wanted to carry a lunch bag in the cold.

Arrow Icon

Currently sampling a few recipe delivery services that are not super expensive so I can increase this amount. Going well so far and it's fun to cook things I never usually do without having to research and buy a ton of different (often wasted) ingredients for them.

As of this year I've made lunch and dinner during the week and usually one dinner on the weekend ... I like cooking.

Arrow Icon

I go out to lunch probably once a week and dinner once a week. Other than that, I make everything.

Arrow Icon

Reheating seemless should count.

Arrow Icon

Anyone order from a meal prep service?

Arrow Icon

I have enjoyed Blue Apron and am occasionally good and meal planning and prepping on the weekend, but it's hard. Looking at how much I spend on food I think I should seriously consider a personal chef!!

Arrow Icon

Ehhhhhhhh. I'm lucky if one. Usually meal prep for the week and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at work.

If I work from home 3-4 days for the rest of the year, do I have a legitimate claim to home office deduction? If yes, does anyone have advice on how to go about preparing for the eventual audit?

Scene: reached out to a firm colleague on a different workstream on our v. large project. Offered edit rights on an easy deliverable as it applies to their workstream. They are a higher staff level, and they sent it back with a “homework assignment” with things they want me to update. My reaction is that I want to blatantly ignore it because I wasn’t looking for more work to do. For those that are 4-6 years post MBA, can you help me understand whether I should have asked in the first place?

Are you spending more or less than you were pre-lockdown/stay-at-home? I feel like most people are saying they’re spending less, but I’m definitely spending more on food delivery, groceries, home goods, and an ergonomic WFH set up. 😥

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.
