How many new jobs can I join in a year before it looks like I'm job-hopping?

If they’re contract roles, then it’s not a problem! If you left a job early 2021, joined a new firm and they aren’t a good fit, then having at least 6/7 months under your belt and being able to explain it’s not a good culture fit, you aren’t doing the work you thought you’d be doing, etc. then I think it’s fine to explain that in your cover letter and potentially interviews a recruiter might overlook. If you pivoted into something new with this job and you’re now looking to go back to the industry/role you were prior to joining, that’s also easily explainable to recruiters as well.

I think two is the max (6 months each). Anything more than that and it might come off as indecisive or poor performance issues

Honestly, anything more than one is going to make you look like a job hopper. It's good to get settled into a job for a while. Even if it isn't a good fit, at least it will be a learning experience.

Yes I agree. I'm sure this isn't the response OP was hoping for but sticking it out will be more helpful in the long run. I always try and remind myself that learning how to work with people or a company I don't like is important experience too.
