2 but I still enjoy coding

Both. I think over the next few years people are strictly 2 will see themselves burning out more and more

like

Both tbh. But did you mean guys as in men only? Lol.

helpful

Yes I’m interested in Microsoft 😅

2, sorta 1. I love solving problems and this was the most lucrative way to do that for a living without a lot of customer interaction.

I see.

Money over passion, but I have other reasons/values why i choose this path.

1, passion, for sure. I love building things that people find useful.

The money is great, too, but I've loved coding since I was a little kid and I never seriously considered any other career path.

Coding is one of few jobs that’s really easy to enjoy 😌

like

Passion. Money and remote work is just a benefit.

I loved tech, the only thing keeping me in it is $$$

At the start of my career I would say passion. Now with 6 years of experince I'll say money. I'm in an automotive company and all decisions are about money. The only question is how can we make it cheaper.

I also work in Industrial side, I’m in the same boat.

like

Passion. Happened into ML with a natural progression of what I found interesting. Data mining is like binge drinking condensed knowledge, building predictive models is basically being able to see the future, and don't even get me started on generative models... We've got people playing god over here, if only crudely for now

Anybody who has felt maxed out in recruitment? What do you do? Do you try other industries first but stay in recruitment or do you try to change positions with more diversity of tasks? I now feel that everything I do is the same old, and although they say I am doing a good job, it is also a constant stress daily for applicants not showing up, failing pre-employment requirements, etc and I wonder if this is also present in other areas of HR.

Junior here. I don’t know if it’s being new to the job or the industry, or if it’s my agency. But I have zero idea what is expected of me. I’m never sure when it’s appropriate to take ownership because I don’t want to step on any toes, but also I feel as though there has been no guidance or support to help develop my skills. Have any of you been in this situation? How did you navigate this?

Just heard back from my Amazon recruiter that they’re not proceeding with me for the BIE technical screen I had. I'm working on an onboarding doc for my entire group but I want to make it dynamic so that if a person leaves it automatically adjusts. Not sure if that's possible or how to approach the task. I don't want to do the typical OneNote guide, but also am not extremely fluent in coding. Any suggestions?

More context: a lot of cross-functional work, so I'm planning on leaving that a little more vague, but it's primary purpose is to iron out all the moving parts. Clarity for who does what.

TIA!

I'm in the interview process for a FA position in the sales finance team at a big tech startup. There's going to be an excel test for this that is done on the spot.
