I’ve got an application in w/ Lockheed Martin for a community relations role. Are there any recruiters on here willing to advise on how to be strategic w/ my LinkedIn & resume? I’ve got 10+ years experience in nonprofit program management, community outreach, and fundraising/development.

As a serious reply, because I have a friend who is not coping well with her twin babies being gone...
It is a win. Years ago you dedicated yourself to becoming a parent without fully understanding what would come. There has been laughter and tears and you have raised your children to become adult members of society. YOU ROCK!!! Now celebrate your accomplishment of not just raising children, but of producing adults.
The good times are not over yet.

My baby left last week & I’m still a mess.
I wanted to be a grandparent without first being a parent, but I could never figure out how to do that, so I wound up doing it the hard way
There is a sense of loss and change. Not bad, but I feel it. Would think I would pivot to enjoy next part of life - but a little frozen in place. Sure it won’t be forever but whoever said guys don’t have feelings is full of s***!

Really? My youngest is still in elementary but waiting for the day they are out so I can get a semblance of life back.
One going to college locally, one at another school living on campus, and a high school junior. Looking forward to the latter getting his driver’s license
Third of three children started uni two weeks ago. Love them, miss them. At the same time, just returned from a vacation in Vancouver, currently in England, head for the fall colors in NE US the day after we fly back. When you’re given lemons, make lemonade. And will enjoy seeing them again at Thanksgiving.
Now have the freedom, plus lots more funds to do whatever you want.
This makes feel not ready at all for kids. I'll be grad pa age soon.
I have 2 kids who have gone to college and now live back at home. Ugh. 3rd is only in middle school.
What is wrong with you guys - go live life!! This is your time now to discover new hobbies, do things you never bothered to do before? If you can’t think of what to do, then start with an interest and let it bring you to wherever it takes you. You are not your kids - you still ha e much to uncover about life! I would be singing from the rooftops!
Both of my kids are in college, but still live at home. My wife and I are now taking solo trips and making plans without them. The advantage of having the kids living with us is that we have "free Uber" when we go out with friends and are too drunk to drive back. We still support our kids but told them that the are now adults and they need to take care of themselves, meaning they need to get a job to pay for their stuff.
Lol that sounds fun
Lol my deepest sympathies
