For me it was a great decision and I truly love my job, but still get twinges of competitiveness now and then knowing I’ve actively decided to “slow down” from the fast path
Had my 2 in the first two years of consulting career. Have been at 100% for 9 years. Having a supportive spouse and not travelling mad it possible. And really liking this job
Full time travel and knocked up with #2 and my husband Keeps telling me he can handle 2 when I’m away. 🤷🏽♀️
3 kids and still client facing. I go back and forth between considering internal and staying in it. Part of me thinks ohhh just a few more years to director and then the other part of me says...yes and then you’re a director doing this for the rest of your life. Is that what I want? Not sure but just putting one foot in front of the other at this point.
I moved to an internal work from home role as well and have really loved it - knowing it’s likely the end of career advancement, I’m very happy to collect my paycheck and spend time with my son...
What type of internal role? Was there a pay cut?
I'm still client facing but working 80%. The part-time is the main thing sustaining me.
Doing 3-4-5 and hate it. But on a work visa and impossible to find local jobs
Client facing and travel with 1 kid. Planning to have another kid at some point. Feel like eventually I will have to give up travel. And there aren't many clients where I'm located, so if I give up travel, there's no point staying in consulting.
Internal, work from home & have loved the work- life balance. Recently though we changed the internal talent model so there’s no promotion- you have to find an open job at the next level- so I’m completely demotivated.

D1 thats almost always been the case- i wouldnt expect promotions in internal roles since they dont matter to the client
M1 not true at all! I’ve been internal for 7 years, and have moved from C to M. We have a new talent model this year.
Working with our Global delivery Centers - no pay cut...
What internal roles are there? How do we learn more about these opportunities? Also, who do we need to talk to move into internal roles?
