I haven’t cursed out anyone, but I’ve certainly spoken assertively to a young person who needs a bit of ego deflation. Remember, this is the “everyone gets a trophy” generation. Their opinions of themselves and their skills have been shaped by a culture where “likes” and “views” matter more than actual substance...and they tend to be tattletales too, always looking for someone else to fight their battles for them and taking offense at the slightest criticism.
I certainly don’t feel old. In my mind I’m still 25. However I am always being reminded by those younger than me that my demographic doesn’t understand anything about technology… Even though I am in… Technology.
I think there could be a mutually beneficial relationship if everyone just took the time to seek to understand however being banged on because I’m “old” sometimes gets tiring
So much for diversity/inclusion, calling us old. Might want to call them out on ageism and conscious bias 😆
nope. several have credited me for accelerating their career for them
Old is a state of mind. I've actually called out a co-worker for saying that they felt old.
Not me
No issues so far. Sometimes I will say I’m old school
Would never occur to me to curse out a co-worker of any age - but I have brought to light their bias and ageism and politely said to watch it for the future.
I wouldn’t do that either, don’t think there’s any reason for profanity in the workplace.
Nope. They’re jealous because I have better work life balance.
A coworker did that to me recently. Called me old. The next week, I brought in pictures from my last promotion in taekwondo class. He doesn't call me old anymore.
