Delta announced that they’re fining unvaccinated employees $200 a month. Probably easier to just mandate vaccines for anyone who flies on their airline, but this is a good step.
Legit question: now that 90% of you all don’t have an expense account or travel, why are you doing consulting? Wlb and pay are shit, professional dev opps are good but can be developed in 2-3 years - so why not leave after
Has anyone had Marriott gift you the next level of status if you’re only a few nights short of the requirement at end of year?
Going to Vegas for the first time in December. I have Marriott platinum. Are there valuable status matches I should do and influence where I look to stay? Thanks for the advice!!

Hi, I got selected in wipro. I have worked in 3 organization till now. So in my first organization my last working day was 23rd oct 2017 and for my 2 nd organization my joining date is 25 sept 2017....these dates are overlapping because my 1st organization had vacation concept(bench without pay)..... So i served notice period there and my second organization asked me join immediately. Will this overlapping affect my bgv in wipro? Everything is genuine. Any suggestions?

When you went to the drive-thru at Sonic for the first time in years for a 50 cent corn dog only to have your credit card info stolen... Cruel world we live in.
Question regarding Salaried Employees and sick days. I’ve never worked in a company where, as a salaried employee, I had to deduct SICK days from my PTO. What are your practices?
Airlines keep making me check my carry-on. I definitely saw space on today's flight though. Any tips? I don't want to have to wait for baggage claim
Currently have my vaca. balance maxed out, but I'm going to take a 3 week vacation in 2 months. Anyway to "spend" my vacation in advance w/o actually taking it so I can continue to accrue more vaca???

Anyone willing to PM me with their Marriott Ambassadors contact info? Mine resigned and I need someone to work magic on a property that won’t let me book with points for a family vacation. TYIA!
FDD at shop like Houlihan, A&M, etc. or data analytics at a B4 firm within the deals/TS space? Does one set me up better in the long run? Interested in both and long term career goals are fluid at this point in my career.
If we were rejected for an internship position is it still okay to contact the recruiter for a jr position?
Has anyone reapplied for a role where they previously got rejected after interviewing? Was it successful?
When leading a team through a reasonably large process change (e.g. changing from non existent to… something), is it a better idea to adopt a Big Bang approach (huge change, but all at once) or through smaller iterative changes (over many months)? What are the pros / cons of either approach? And any suggestions for dimensions to keep in mind when deciding?
Been getting approached by multiple recruiters for boutique consulting firms, and salary expectations never seem to align (mine are too high). I’m an experienced A in S& up for promotion fairly soon, which is why I benchmarked my salary expectation to SA level (140k base - even gave a slight discount there). More details: I’m happy where I am, with no great desire to move. Should I generally be setting lower expectations? What would your considerations be?
In your experience, how many days/weeks/months did it take from final interview to offer?
With the long-weekend, lets do a book thread. Give me your favorite sales book - here's mine - How To Win Friends and Influence People
How does experienced hiring (generally) work in consulting? Are there cycles similar to campus recruiting or is it year-round? Got laid off a few weeks back and the job hunt has been frustrating
I rolled off a project 3 months ago. They keep reaching out and asking me to help onboard new teammates to give them historical knowledge (it’s a long-term project). Do I have to keep doing this? Or does it get to a point where I can say I don’t have the time and there must be someone more recent who can help?
In case you’ve put off getting a vaccine because you’re too busy to leave the house, any New York City resident 12 and older can now request a Covid vaccine at home. https://forms.cityofnewyork.us/f/home
I want to switch role as an AWS developer. But I have just learnt the things on my own in AWS. In interview I am asked questions based on real scenarios on which I am not having any experience. Any suggestions? Even if I do hands on on services like Linux academy or quiklabs, it would not help. (AWS cloud migration experience one can get if worked on a real project). Please help.
If you sent a subordinate an article that you thought might be related to their current project and they responded with, “Thank you. Very Interesting.” Would you consider that rude? Edit: I am the replyer in this scenario
Got offer from a top 10 PE firm, but it’s a senior position in Corp accounting. Base comp increased by 13%. Currently M1, not sure if should I take the job for money or should pass because it’s a step down on title. Hours are about 40-50/wk
Hey 🐠, what is your base salary vs. the price of your home when you bought it? I’ll start - I’m currently at a 115k base and paid $218k for my home. I live in Atlanta.
hello my wise 🐟 I signed a retention bonus with a clawback last year, it expires in Q4 but I have a great opportunity that I’m excited about. If I leave and company pursuits the payback what does that typically look like? Lump sum due the day I turn in my keys? Payments over time? Trying to understand what to expect as part of considering new opportunities.
I’m 4 rounds into the interview process for an Assistant Controller position in SoCal. For the next round, I’ll be meeting with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and 5 other junior accounting staff. I’ll have 30 minutes to explain a month-end close task (of my choice) to the accounting team. Also, I’ll have to analyze a random reconciliation and explain improvements that can be made. I’m just a 2nd year manager, so I’m getting so nervous, and any insight or tips would be appreciated!
D-Day? Finest hour? I’m sure we’re all hearing these ridiculous references on the news to the fight on Covid and the vaccines. Sounds sacrilegious to me. This isn’t the greatest generation by a long shot. This is the generation of whom many flouted medical guidelines, put others at risk for selfish reasons. Whined about work from home. Recklessly traveled in droves over Thanksgiving. Sorry, but just an observation about the hubris that brought out the worst in too many people.
