Living and working in ey McLean office?
I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

I do, super helpful. Use my own brain, apps are truly unnecessary - but one may come to that realization in their own time. Start small ie 1-2 minutes few times a week and be consistent. Meditation is absolutely not easy. Jon Kabat-Zinn has a great book that introduces meditation for stress relief (amongst other benefits) that I highly recommend.
I do! And it is life-changing. I say that with no hesitation. I focus better. I'm more productive, I sleep better. I love my friends and family better. And, I can use it to help any problem. Downside: it isn't easy.
Also try Waking Up! It’s a meditation app by Sam Harris, if you know of him
Every single day (30-40 mins) for the last 10 years. Grateful to have been introduced to meditation in my early years. Otherwise, i don’t know how I would have survived consulting all these years! Def give it a try; Highly recommend! Things wont change overnight / get better but it will eventually! Have patience and keep growing with your practice! Feel free to DM if you have any questions!
Ok I am going to try headspace
I meditate 10 minutes daily. Definitely helps clear my head and reset
Has helped enormously, even with 10 mins a day consistently. Results come with time, but has been life changing.
I’ve been doing it for years and practice everyday, at this point it’s something I look forward to at the end of each day. It’s life changing and can go beyond calming the mind down, meditation can shift your entirely reality and how you perceive the world altogether. There’s even research on now meditation can actually change the structure of the brain- which is just fascinating. I personally listen to binaural beats or frequency music to assist in the experience, and have learned there is no right or best way to do it. If you want to create a routine around it, I find that right before bed or first thing in the morning works best- you can do visualization meditation or guided (apps/YouTube), or simply focus on your breathing if getting your mind to go blank is too hard.
Yup, for busy people it’s important. You have to practice, it’s not like a one off massage. it’s noticeable when I Haven’t done it for a while. It makes all the difference to my day.
