I do. To be fair I usually say woman of color, but overall I prefer it because it's more inclusive
Seriously, this even a question? Are you white? No. Then you are POC. Asians who think they are white and not POC are delusional.
Always? We aren’t white....
I mean we are people of color....
Since we (POC) are the majority, let's stop giving ourselves labels and start calling white people "people without color"? That would make more sense.
Reminds me of this

News flash: Greeks and Italians weren’t considered “white” in the 19th century.
EY 2 I think they’re aware—the focus on Chinese people was simply due to a historical example OP was referring to...also, my comment specifically mentions Asian as an umbrella term in this case.
We are people of color.
While a common term when the topic of conversation is race (or rather racism), it's just not a phrase that's as commonly used in everyday conversation (by anyone) because other more specific and non-offensive words exist. And of course it's mostly interchangeable with the word minority.
You must not be millennial/Gen z
I'm just a person, same as anyone else. I don't define myself with such artificial constructs.
Says someone who joined the Asian Bowl.
Never.
We also have to be cognizant of the fact that people may identify as POC as they are bi-racial or even multi-racial (e.g. Half Asian and Half Black). Nevertheless, POC applies to any one considered not White. If B stands for Black and I for Indigenous, then who do you think POC applies to other than Asians..?
Hispanic / Latinos
I do.
I did until multiple African Americans told me that I’m not really one... so I had to stop. So we aren’t POC guys - stop using it.
We are people of color. White people don’t see us as White, that’s for sure. I can understand the POV of a lot of Black Americans because they are subjected to way more daily state surveillance and violence and then general discrimination in the public domain. To some of them it might seem ridiculous for Asian Americans to claim the term given the model minority myth, but sadly the person who told you that is mistaken.
I just say I’m POC and see wokeies combust themselves but wanting to call me out for “pretending to be POC” and trying to stay inclusive
Yes, since college 15 years ago. It’s a term that’s been around for a while. Took several race & ethnicity theory classes
I never actively thought about it but yea I guess ppl who aren’t white are all ppl of colour lol. There’s a term called ‘yellow fever’ too. Think they’re referring to Asians as being yellow.
Yea exactly
Person of color is a less politically correct way of saying racially diverse. Some cultures do not refer to the color of ones skin when referring to diversity among people kind.
That’s not accurate D2. It’s origin was actually to be more politically correct, but it’s being considered not a good enough term these days because of its cultural erasure of black and indigenous folks, so BIPOC is on the rise now. Still not good enough. Another one I’ve seen is NBPOC which means “non-black PoC”.
Basic idea is this: in American culture (and now other cultures) where whiteness is valued and considered default, how do we discuss or refer to non-whites in the public sphere that’s unifying and doesn’t call them “minorities” when as a whole they aren’t actually a minority, but nearly half the population. Personally, I find the term unifying. As an Asian American involved in AAPI political activism, any terms to unite is welcomed since even our own group is so incredibly diverse. To have a term that brings us closer and empowers us politically with other groups is even more welcomed.
I’m leaving the Wikipedia page here for anyone who wants a reference point to explore the term.

I brought it out for the first time this year to put a problematic person in their place at work, but it was more of a seasoning than the main argument 😂

I didn’t until someone told me I was lol
Nope. But then again I'm an immigrant from HK so I don't consider myself as a minority either
Yeah I mean your framework is based on being part of the majority, so do you see white people as minorities by default? Because in HK they would be minorities.
I do
