I did not. I could be wrong but I think it was discouraged to ensure your immune system responds fully. Make sure to hydrate well!!

I don’t think you’re supposed to take Tylenol or Advil ahead of the vaccine if I remember correctly. Drink a lot of water leading up to it. It’s just a shot. If you feel effects from it, it will take 8-12 hours for them to kick in. That’s what happened for my wife and me and our two older kids. You’ll be alright. It’s not any worse than any other shot I’ve ever had.

Is this a joke? It’s a shot, not a bullet.

Didn’t your parents teach you? “Don’t do drugs!”

Do you also cry before haircuts

No just after

Like tylenol or oxy?

I didn’t, my arm did get pretty sore but still doesn’t come close to anything I’ve taken Advil for.

You’re not supposed to take anything before getting the vaccine. They will give you an instruction sheet when you get the shot (or just ask) and I think they say you can take something 6 hours later. I had a sore arm late in the day and took Advil (I think) before going to bed and then then next day because I had a headache. Second shot same thing with sore arm. Waited until bedtime to take anything and fine the next day.

Please Not before. Take a painkiller after the reaction is started.

Do not take painkillers beforehand.

DON’T DO DRUGS!

My principal approached me in the car pick up line on Friday to inform me that I’ve taken to many days off & school has just started. I took 1day off when my daughter tested positive for Covid, I had an doctor’s appt that had been scheduled 6 months ago to see the hematologist. Being that I’m anemic, current labs showed I need to have 2 iron infusions. I put in for 2 more days off to have that done. He told me in the future to wait until a work day! We done have any until December!!

I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..

Touchy feely client asked me today, “how come you never talk about your family? Don’t you get along with them? Family is so important to me.” I’ve been feeling particularly alone and lonely during Covid, but even before... I’m 50, single, never been in a relationship, really feeling kind of down at this “midpoint” in my life. I kind of keep people at arms length especially clients I’ve never even met in person. 😔 How do you even respond?

Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂

Unrelated to law, but need some advice on how to help a friend. One of my best friend’s dad is in the hospital in really bad shape. She’s home with her mom and siblings. I want to send food or do something for them, especially since they just found out they may have been exposed to covid when visiting their dad at the hospital (not by their dad), and they have to quarantine for 2 weeks. If I were closer I’d make food and drop it off, but they’re 200 miles away. Any ideas?

My roommate is denying to pay his share of rent he supposed to pay also which he has been paying till Dec 2020. This is not due to COVID but we had an argument using common places in Jan 21,until then he was paying his share of rent $1100 which he agreed to pay for the master bedroom which is quite large that he is occupying, after the brawl he is saying he can pay only equal share of the rent $1950/2 =$975, he also wants the extra money back that he claims that he extra paid. How do i solve ?

So.. my husband and I live across the country from my family, including my young nieces. We haven’t seen them since before COVID and are not seeing anyone inside who is not vaccinated in our life, and this has not been a problem. We made a plan to vacation with my family to see them again this summer. My BIL is refusing to get vaccinated. Everyone else is vaccinated. My parents and sister aren’t happy about it but feel there is nothing they can do.

Over COVID, my boyfriend moved to Miami. Every time I come visit, all of his friends make me lose a LOT of hope in relationships. It is wild the things I’ve seen here. This weekend I found a Plan B, and after blowing up on my bf, he went through 4 friends that it may belong to. I do believe him in it not being his, but am I crazy for thinking it’s just best to step away for a bit? This Miami thing is a lot and if literally ALL of his friends shady in their relationships, what are the odds?

Would love to hear your negotiation wins and fails, and lessons learned. One of my learnings is simply to ask. If you don't ask the answer is definitely no. My example was asking for additional equity. I got back a no, but was offered a signing bonus.
