How many people changed careers or wanted to change careers as soon as you returned from maternity leave? You or people you know? I couldn’t care less about advertising right now.

I changed jobs pretty much immediately after returning from both my maternity leaves, but not careers

Unhappy in my situation and new priorities. My whole team left while I was on mat leave with my first. And while I was pregnant with my second, my job treated me like shot - overworked to the point of having to be hospitalized. Mat leave was the break I needed to reassess.

Two of my favorite coworkers from previous company left within a month of joining. They were not supported post announcing their maternity leave (the HR randomly changes maternity leave policy after they announced and dated it a month early), and knew they deserved better. One left for industry and other for another consulting firm. Both in same field with much higher salary, and responsibilities...

Wow how shitty

I didn’t want to change careers but I was really debating on changing jobs. It took all of my ‘friend’ coworkers to leave and three months of realizing I should have looked while on maternity leave for a new job to leave

Awesome situation! Great job

Came back from leave since August, currently reassessing and hopefully I can make a decision by December. I’m looking to change locations too so it adds an additional layer of complexity especially during covid

This is pretty much what happened to me. I was back early October 2019 and by end of January 2020 I was at another firm

I came back from leave to find out I was laid off and job hunting now. Hoping I find something good and I am afraid my career will stall. 😢

Yes, agree on it is legal, if you can prove other types of discrimination, may often be a better case.

Was getting yelled at by senior manager via Zoom for going over budget. Didn’t respond, just dropped from the call Intentionally, due to the tone/ aggression shown. Gave him 3 minutes to calm down and rejoined the zoom call. He settled down and adjusted his tone. Do you guys think I need to report to HR this behavior or just let it go? I’m a professional not a child to berate.

I received an offer from a quant fund. My offer letter doesn’t explicitly state my role/position, it is nyc based, and that it’s full time. It also doesn’t provide benefits breakdown, just a blanket statement that I’m eligible. I’ve spoken to the recruiter about these items, but general response is that this is standard for the company. To me this is all very strange and I feel it should be defined more. Does this sound normal to others? Can’t tell if i should push on this more or leave it.
