How many people have made reports to HR / Ethics hotline? Has anyone received a conclusion other than "we couldn't find evidence to prove...?"

Nope. I have ZERO faith on the process. Reported two different people in different geographies, with tons of hard evidence (emails, SMS, recordings) to support, and in both cases behaviours like calling a teammate names in front of the client (attached an email from the client corroborating the story) or systematically yelling and belittling people (attached recordings of several occasions) were considered “within the range of reasonable executive practices”.


Also, please be the first one. It doesn't matter how many ppl before you didn't report it before, if just one person stands up, others will follow. Be strong for yourself and others.

Also - if you're telling anyone and everyone, I recommend using different "sound bites" with different people. When it comes back around, you'll know who advocated (or gossiped) about it.


I’m with A2, hotlines like that might result in firing someone if they did something illegal or truly mind bendingly bad, but otherwise I wouldn’t expect to see people getting jacked up by HR especially after a single complaint.

If you were the one about to be fired, what level of anonymous complaint would you want to be the minimum necessary to end your career?

There are also other and probably better ways to handle a lot of these situations than calling an anonymous hotline.


Yes. Have seen plenty of situations where things are proven and wide range of consequences based on what happened, everything from coaching, to financial hit/role being taken away, to termination. This is taken very seriously.


I’ve only ever seen coaching as the consequence for serious evidenced sexual quid pro quo and harassment. I wonder if post #metoo it would be different but .... I’ve already been very disappointed and I won’t ever use that channel again


I’ve seen people fired for sexual harassment, and then use the company network to get a very nice exit opportunity since the reason for firing was not disclosed. Eventually karma bought up cos one of the directors was friends with the person that unknowingly hired him and the offer got rescinded.

Yes. ]I was a top rated performer. Reported know offender who broke laws. Was substantiated. They got slap on wrist. I was retaliated against by many leaders. Ethics did nothing because they said they thought I had a future at the firm. When I wouldnt cover up, i had to finally leave.


Really sorry to hear this, btw. And thanks for not covering it up. :( I'm kind of dealing with the same thing. I am wondering if I should sue so perhaps the same thing will stop happening to other people in the future. I'm so tired of people thinking they are untouchable... they are not.


Yes feel the same way. I still haven't given up btw. Someone has to care about ethics because they do matter

Exactly and make sure you have witnesses. SENIOR MGR 2 on this post had great advice on nailing perpetrators (a four step guide). Don't give up. And if you do leave... get a settlement first. And if you get fired... sue the hell out of them. I used to practice law. I'll help you with the right interview questions to select a good attorney, should you find yourself in that situation. DM me. Keep fighting the good fight. I have fought the good fight at 2 of the big 4. i walked away from one company before I finished the fight. I let them hurt other people bc I wasnt brave enough. Now, I'm 10x stronger and determined to win at my second big4. Get it PWC2!
