I max out my 401k and Roth every year.

Reminder that Vanguard, Ed Jones, etc all have a variety of funds, which may perform quite differently from one another and have different risk profiles.

Been meaning to look into this, thanks for the reminder!

I have one through Vanguard.

🙋🏼vanguard. Tried fidelity last year and didn't like it. Now it lives with my 401k.

I have a Roth IRA in my Edward Jones account. Average returns have been much higher than my vanguard 401K

@kml43 Roth 401k or Roth IRA? What are you saying?

💁🏻Fidelity. Their website is light years ahead of Vanguard and fees are comparable

Max Trad 401k and Roth IRA. Almost all brokerages these days offer low cost index funds similar to vanguard. It becomes a matter of preference. As K1 said, it is about your choice of investment rather than your decision of company to hold your account that is the primary driver of performance.

Yes. Max. Vanguard.

Vanguard only for IRA. They are the best around. Lowest expense fees. And I trust that they will be around for the next 40 years until I retire. These new tech startups: not so much.

Roth IRA, regular 401k (i do both through vanguard...I'm a novice investor)

T.Rowe, both Roth and Traditional.

When figuring out how much money you need to save before retirement, do you follow the 4% rule? I have this constant feeling of doing something better then what I am doing now. Bigger role, better pay, more growth, higher impact .... is what my brain is consumed with all the time. It’s not new, I have been feeling like this for as long as I remember ... even when I was in school. Although it has served me well so far career wise, but sometimes I feel that I missing out on my present life... does anyone feel like this too? I am not sure if this normal. I am in mid-40s, in case that matters.
