How is your firm's bonus pool this year?
Hey folks, welcome to the bowl! I'm hoping this can be a safe space for venting and sharing tips and talking about common issues dealing with depression and anxiety while trying to be successful in consulting.
So, a few things first:
1) http://ruddystargazers.tumblr.com
This is a blog I made to help me remember some quick tips for mental health and wellness, as well as just centering and calming myself. If you go to the desktop version, you can view posts under different tags, and from mobile you can just scroll through cat vids and little tips and tricks to keep you going. I like to scroll through when I'm feeling down and I'm taking a break from a stressful day (sometimes while hiding out in the bathroom or a rental car 😂). I try to keep things light enough, but understanding how dark some feelings can get. It's all about removing the shame from being affected by these issues
2) I want to talk to and connect with anyone who wants to chat a little bit more in depth! Feel free to email me at digital.sr.analyst@gmail.com any time you have a bad day or want to vent more personally
3) I'm probably going to be in the habit of posting tips that I come across and things that I tell myself in moments and I hope others will too! I want this bowl to help us be resources for one another
Thanks!!
Partner 1, thank you for doing this!!

Before manager usually one unless it’s really small. At manager usually one to two unless they are really small.
For the first half of my career in a small shop, there was a peak of 90 active projects for 27 clients in my team’s weekly status meeting. For the 2nd half of my career it’s been 1 project/client at a time. Just this past month that’s changed to 3 projects for 3 different clients.
1-2 big ones, and maybe a smaller one here or there. I’m probably an anomaly though

I work in research - on any given day between 3 to 7 studies. And everything is always ‘urgent’ 🤣

So I’m running the projects but I have a few consultants under me that do most of the work. They reach out to me when they need help or need something, and I know everything going on, I just don’t have to spend my hours doing it.
Honestly I work like 20 hours a week, and all the projects are in great shape. It’s been nice
