How many PTO hours is everyone losing on 12/31/15 because your project won't let you take time off for the holidays? #fuckingscrooges

How do you survive being on a project that is failing? Can’t leave, was just brought on to lead the team. Am doing all damage control possible in terms of delivery but wondering if others who have been on struggling projects have recommendations of how to maintain reputation and mental health?

Honestly, how many of you literally have no idea what your doing when on a consulting project, but everyone thinks your a great employee and gotta live the fake it until you make it lifestyle?

I have stepped into December with total apathy towards work. Just came back from vacation so I don’t feel like I need to rest. Just no desire at all to do anything and I can’t find the motivation. I am also in the process of looking for other job opportunities but nothing seems to excite me. Has anyone ever felt the same way? Maybe it’s just a period that will pass on its own?
Any advice will be appreciated🙏

Would you rather work at Apple, with an in office policy of 3 days no fully remote option. Or work for a Consulting company that offers 100% remote and unlimited PTO as long as it doesn’t interfere with projects and such. I would really love to have Apple on my resume as I am now in an Ivy League school. But as a single parent with 3 kids I really find it hard to work for a company that is not flexible. I enjoy being in the office as needed but don’t know how I feel about it being required.
