I put my 2 weeks in and I literally have no billable work right now. Are they watching my billables? Can I just chalk this up as part of my "unlimited" vacation time? I'm available if needed, but also working remote, so could get away with doing bare minimum, I think.
Someone please come help us with our workload at ropes…! I like the firm but we have too much work… One noticeable perk is 45 dollar dinner stipend for any day with over 9 billable hours.
Everyday I can’t seem to hit the required billable hours. I’m overwhelmed by emails and people asking me where an item is. I feel like I’m not good enough. I keep making mistakes I shouldn’t make at my level. I wish I could just quit so I wouldn’t have to be miserable everyday.
What does everyone have for billable hours?
I can’t remember what a normal year of billable hours is. I’ve been on pace for 2600-2700 for a long time. Is that high?
Hi, so I’ve been working as a (TCP temporary creative professional) while one of the agency’s employees was on leave. I understood it to be a FT position, clocking in, etc but last week a bunch of employees were on vacation and I didn’t get projects. My work from the week before was all approved, so I had no edits. I asked for work, reached out, etc but ended up with very few billable hours, which annoyed the bosses. Now I’m not sure how to proceed. Do I NGAF, clock in? Or wait for work?
Are any other paralegals struggling with billable hour requirements? I have 5 years of experience in corporate transactions, M&A, and real estate work, and have never had billable hour requirements. I'm in a new job now where I do and I'm nowhere near meeting them. I'm getting a lot more admin work than billable work, and it's stressing me out.
Obligatory financial info post. 1) size of firm, 2) billable requirements, 3) salary, 4) bonus, 5) quality of life, 6) debt, and and 7) family/married/single. Go!
Does anyone know the starting salary for Jackson Lewis in the firm's Connecticut office, as well as the billable hours requirement?
Are there any BCBAs here? What's the most rewarding thing in this field for you guys? Definitely not salary, although it's just decent. For me, it's working with parents and when they are onboard, and we see the massive progress in the kids. Lastly, what's your ideal salary range for a 20 billable hours BCBA?
I've been at my current firm for two months and I'm already miserable. There's hardly any work to do, but I'm getting pressure to increase my billable time. Even the attorneys on my team are struggling to get billable hours in. I'm thinking about looking for other opportunities, but how would I explain such a short stint? Will it look like a red flag to employers?

What do we think this industry will look like in ten years? Do we still have biglaw firms with billable hours? Do we have more focus on alternative fee structures?
Midlevel M&A just lateraled to my V10 firm and have been doing 75-ish billable hrs per week for the past three weeks. I’m exhausted from sleeping 4-5hr per night. Is this typical or is my firm just toxic? Feel like I can’t physically do this long term - any thoughts on whether litigation is more sustainable or what area to switch into within biglaw?
Ever been promoted at your firm while on a project and you have to be rolled off bc your billable rate is higher than what the client has budgeted? Or does your firm find this as an opportunity to renegotiate the SoW?
Anyone else have family members who don’t understand that I can’t take personal calls/texts all the time because I’m trying to meet my daily billable goal?
I have always filled the Timesheet under "Unassigned task" with Non billable hours as 9hrs. But from today it is showing that Non Job Activity should be less than 4 hrs. Hence i am unable to fill timesheet. Please help me what to do?

What’s the best way to study for the ‘Oracle Risk Management Cloud 2021 Certified Implementation Specialist’ exam? As far as I could find the only option is a one year $5,000 (!!!) subscription to all of Oracle learning. Any other more affordable options? Preferably interactive online classes+labs. Thanks!

Will there be any swanky cocktail bars left for us to go? Even if stuff opens, would you feel safe gathering 4-5 friends at a bar esp. since you won’t be able to wear a mask? I live for a good negroni but if this lasts until September they will all go bankrupt.
