I just opened a Roth at M1 Finance last night. Would it be silly to open another under Fidelity?

How many Roth IRA / Backdoor IRA accounts do you have?

One. Why would you want to have multiple?

Yes it would be silly

2 IRAs if income over $125k (single). Keep at same bank. 1 - ROTH, 1 -Traditional. Contribute to traditional & convert when maxed.

I would stick with one and remember the contribution limits. I assume that if you stuck with one it would prevent you from overcontributing

😬 cool thx!

Curious why op thought this would be a good thing

😲😩 lol thanks for the headsup

this is why y'all are the tax, finance, and accounting peepos.

There's so many rules to be aware of that the rest of us don't even know about.

Can anyone advise - if I did not file taxes for 2019 and 2020 is there a way I can file without receiving a penalty? I just didn’t file them no great reason. Nothing complicated and I probably owe a few hundred each year in fed taxes. Nothing crazy.

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

Definitely a new one for the client complaints log “when you email after hours I feel like we weren’t important enough for you to work on the account in the day”. Yeah that’s the reason.

Anyone here in the Deloitte ARA group? What’s your experience like? Description sounds like technical accounting, but also risk of helping with internal controls?

My closest friend of 15 years told me she's been in love with me for several years. I don't know what to do. She's my closest friend. We talk about everything under the sun. I don't want to lose her. I could feel the pain in her voice as she told me this. She already knows she's just a friend to me. I'm serious about my girlfriend and we've discussed getting married. Is there anything I can do to lessen her pain and preserve the friendship?

Anyone else out there feel like they’re both 1. working harder and for longer hours than ever but also 2. about to be laid off regardless, given the looming economic constraint.

Just cleared $300k selling my primary residence and will move back into a house we used as a rental. Looking for investment recommendations with the $300k. Should we buy a business like a bar in a college town, buy a multi family property? Or break up the principal and invest into a mix of bonds/stocks etc?

I heard someone make a bold statement that contributing to a traditional 401k versus a Roth 401k were the exact same assuming the same tax rate. I ran the numbers and to my surprise they were not wrong (even considering the earnings). Can anyone explain why a Roth would ever make sense given that income will likely be lower and therefore lower tax rate in retirement?

I’m interviewing at a few places but finding a pattern that salaries are offering lower than my expectations because of covid.

Would you take the job (good reputation, career trajectory) with low pay (<50K)

Or wait it out?

Also any advice on negotiation would help immensely.

Not worried about bills or anything but have some student loans I can manage.

Actively looking to buy a house in Dallas area for the past year, missed the best timing, with the low inventory and high price and high interest rate, should I wait or go for the ride if anything pops up but not in my ideal price range?

Live in HCOL city with 2 kids. Have been rentvesting in smaller lower cost cities and getting good yield, moderate growth. Property is ridiculously priced in my city, can’t get anything for under $1.8-2.2mil and don’t have much of a deposit. but rents are going up too. Does it make sense to continue rentvesting? We will have to stay in this city for kids education for next 12 years….

Need some investment guidance. I've about 130k cash in my savings account, of which I want to invest about $75k. Was planning to buy a home earlier but delaying that decision by another year (hoping housing mkt normalizes by then). What are some investment options for me? (Leaning towards ETFs but want to hear more options)

How do you handle your annual bonus?

Dump it all in savings? Somehow automating things? Or is it just a tough decision every year on how to split between saving and spending (esp. if sole-earner for family)?

Friendly reminder: IRA contribution limit increased from $5500 to $6000 in 2019. Make sure to update those automatic contribution amounts!

Should I continue to contribute to 401k roth or should I move to conventional? I contribute the max. My employer contributes 7.5% as conventional. I’m 38 and in the 24% tax bracket.

Any Recommendations on high yield savings account? I am usually hesitant if it’s not a big brand. Probably irrational but I am new to this so appreciate your perspective. Thank you

Hi! Pretty new to this concept, and really early within my career (only 3 months in). Currently on my company’s 401k plan, contributing well beyond the minimum to receive a match, and maxing the amount I can put in right now (25%). Dabbled a bit in options and stocks in general. Any advice, guides, or starting places you would give someone in my shoes? Thank you in advance!
