I have multiple “oh God is anyone here a lawyer” moments every day. It’s me. I’m the (4th year) lawyer.

like

6th year, too many to count

like

All day every day haha. 7th year.

like

4th year. I’m just stoopid and have accepted it

like

8th year. Relatively infrequently. Unless you are only doing the same thing everyday, there is going to be something new to learn. Even if it is just client specific, some jargon, or procedure you've never done. Don't let the fact that you don't know everything make you feel stupid. Ask for help, share your lack of understanding, and work to get up to speed. Don't be the kind of fucker who lies that he knows everything and walks into malpractice.

like

At least 5, 10th year

I got assigned to a case dealing with an insurance law (I do employment) and there’s not a single moment when im working on that case when I don’t feel like a complete moron.

Most of the time. Going into second year.

Every day!

Stoopid stoopid everyday all day, 1st

At least twice a day, 5th year.

At least 5 times a day

Every other day, new call 1st year

Hi Fishbowl Friends! I’m looking in to starting a masters program in 2023. Background on me - I’ve been in HR for a little over 4 years now and earned my SHRM-CP last spring. Looking for more ways to improve.

Would you recommend any specific schools or master programs? I’m in Tampa, FL but I know most programs are remote these days. :)

I heard that work life balance is really poor in ZS and employees work 11-12 hours on a normal day and almost alternate weekends are always working.

M&A/PE associate (trying to juggle multiple deals) feeling like I don’t have time to dive deeper into issues and it being highlighted in some of my work product as I am having to turn things right away and just pushing things out - so issues I may have caught if I had a better/deeper/higher level understanding are more apparent when partners review. Truly feeling like I’m just messing up all around but trying to give myself grace. How do you know if it’s just you or a part of the process?
