How many times a week do y’all consider quitting. I’m a lawyer by background, my husband is in big law making like 5x what they pay me in big 4, and we work very similar hours. I do everything around the house, with 2 kids. I hate house work. I strongly dislike childcare, all day. I’m okay outsourcing housework but I wouldn’t want to have a live in nanny bc they are my children and I want them growing up with my care. I’m just really burning out/struggling/ finding it difficult to stay motivatd
How old are your children? There are definitely some phases more difficult than others, in terms of all-day childcare, burnout for you on related tasks, etc.
Still not in elementary school and I imagine it will get busier when they are older with events and what not
Can you reduce your hours at work?
When I came back from maternity leave I worked a 60% schedule for 4 weeks , and I hadn’t even ramped up on work. The last 2 weeks it felt like I was inconveniencing everyone and their mom by not working Thursday and Friday lol. One time I did work on Friday. I would just hate myself if I slowed down my career and reduced my pay only to work 90% of the hours I used to work
