Any remote jobs out there ?
Has anyone moved from Accenture Federal to CGI Federal at Manager/Senior Manager level? Looking at Strategy/Organizational Change Management roles, and curious to know if you feel that compensation and benefits were worth it when measured against your actual experience once you started working with CGI. (I understand that some of it depends on the account you're on, the team you have, etc., just trying to decide if it's worth considering.) Thanks!

New to Fishbowl?

It doesn’t matter. At all. Take it as many times as you want. Schools just care that you have the highest possible score.
I took it 3 times, got a 680 and got into Columbia, Texas, nyu and Berkeley. denied at hbs Penn and Stanford. wait list northwestern.
stuided for 4 months got a 660, studied for another month got a 680 and said good enough for me
Thanks EY :)
For some reason, there’s a VERY vocal group on Fishbowl who all got 700+ scores after like a month of studying. This not the norm. Most people (even if you’re smart, are a good test taker, had a good SAT, etc.) need 4-6 months of consistent studying to get a 700+ score.
Studied in 3 weeks, but had the time off to focus on it fully. Went from ~500 score pre studying to ~700 and got into top school.
Tbh you can cancel your score after you see it so in theory you can take it as many times as you need/want
At least a couple years ago you couldn't cancel the score after seeing it: after you finished the test, you could choose to cancel it before seeing your score (if you knew you'd sucked), bit once you saw the score it became permanent

I think I took it 3-4 times and ultimately got a 720. I studied for about 2 months and got a tutor the last time around
One and done - got 700+ and figured it was good enough
My graduate school, which was both the best in the nation for what I wanted was also my undergraduate school, had a mandatory GMAT requirement. I went into the admissions office and asked why they needed a test from New Jersey to validate if I was qualified after I had been a student there for four years. They conceded it was a ridiculous request and waived the requirement.
Ergo, 0 attempts on GMAT.
Sounds like Babson, loll
Studied for 6 weeks, I took it once and got 760. 3 months is enough to study, but don’t go write if you’re not ready. Try to not take it more than twice.
As you haven’t spent any time to think about my statement, I will elaborate.
Some business schools explicitly ask how many times you’ve taken the GMAT. Not sure about you, but for me achieving score X in 2 attempts looks much better than achieving the same score in 10 attempts.
The mock exams give a pretty good idea of what you’ll score - if you’re targeting a high score and you don’t get close to it in the mocks, why waste your time to go write?
I took it once and got 760. But I studied for 3 months obsessively.
The bs-ometer is ringing at full volume ... all these clowns who claimed they got 700+ ... ding ding!
I took it 3 times. First time I didn’t study at all and wanted to baseline- got a 600. 2nd time “studied” for 3 months but didn’t take it seriously at all, got a 630. Third time I took it seriously, studied for another 3 months and got a 700.
Took a few practice tests and then got a 770 on first try.
How have you done on prior standardized tests? I found that without studying (though I took a practice exam to see the format), you can get upper-700s on first try if you usually get 99th percentile on standardized tests. Once you get standardized tests, it's all the same.
Actually agree with PwC guy here lol
As long as you're a native speaker you should do absolutely fine so don't sweat it. The math section in particular is a joke.
But I'm not tho...
I took it 4 times and was admitted to a few M7 schools. If someone were to ask (which they don’t), you can frame your multiple attempts as picking yourself up again and showing grit.
Some people are better prepared for the content at this moment than others so don’t be intimidated if your friend only needed one month but you might need much longer
Took it one time. 3 weeks. Did a practice test every OTHER day. Very important imo to do a lot of practice tests. Went from 650 pre studying and ended with a 720.
I don’t know why people want to take GMAT?
D7 - spot on!
Schools don’t care how many times you take it as they just look at your final score. I had a classmate at a top school who took it 8 times before he got the score he wanted. As far as time to study, take practice exams as you study. Those scores will reflect your day of score. So, you will know when you’re ready to take it. It varies for everyone.
I took it thrice to reach 710. It’s not an easy game. Especially when you are working simultaneously. This exam requires focus and commitment. 3 full months of dedicated efforts without any distractions will do
